Bellini Signature Drink

A signature drink that is both refreshing and elegant to tray pass before the ceremony or during cocktail hour is a bellini, made of prosecco sparkling wine and fresh fruit of your choice. I happen to prefer using peaches. If you choose to have a bellini skip the traditional champagne toast during dinner. Your guests will appreciate the bellini option early in the day and can toast later with a drink of their choice.

Peach Bellini Recipe
3 ounces prosecco sparkling wine.
2 ounces fresh peach puree.
Mix and serve in champagne flute.
Garnish with peach slice.
Enjoy!

Savor Seattle Food Tours

Recently I had the chance to go on the widely talked about Savor Seattle Food Tour through Pike Place Market. Angela Shen, the savvy founder of Savor Seattle is an absolute foodie and so passionate about the culture and cuisines of Seattle. Her motto is eat. drink. be inspired. and that was exactly what I did!

We started the guided tour in the morning at Pike Place Market with fresh coffee and piping hot mini doughnuts, watched the flying fish and tasted the most amazing smoked salmon, learned about local spices and the history of the market. We went on to try many other delectable creations including Chukar cherries, handmade Beecher’s cheese, Chef Tom Douglas’ famous coconut cream pie and local wines at The Tasting Room, tucked away in Post Alley on a cobblestone street. What an experience! I have grown up in Seattle and learned more about Pike Place Market than I ever knew before.

Angela offers public and private tours, both at a reasonable price, perfect for weddings guests or your bridal party to showcase Seattle’s history and fine foods. Go hungry!

A toast to fabulous wine at a fabulous price!

Last week I visited Seattle Wine Outlet just north of Downtown Seattle on the way to Ballard. I have been hearing so many wonderful things about the shop for high-end wines at wholesale prices (staring at low at $8!). Customers visit the outlet for personal wine cellars, special events and of course weddings!

Andrea Mirante, wine guru and instructor at the shop, was behind the counter and spent time discussing the offerings of the store including tasting events and wine classes as I sipped three unique Washington wines (one of which was so good I had to buy a bottle on the spot!).

Seattle Wine Outlet was founded by Richard Kinssies, a sought after wine columnist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and world known wine educator. Richard opened his two shops (first shop opened in SoDo District) with the philosophy that exceptional wines should be available at affordable prices. The wine selections at both shops change out frequently as Richard is always searching for unique wines to keep the palate fresh.

I highly recommend visiting Seattle Wine Outlet if you are in search of great wine for your event or simply want to learn more about wine. Their attention to detail and personalized service to carefully pair wines with your menu will make for a memorable event!
