Golf Club Wedding

Tanya and Jordan wed at The Golf Club at Newcastle on a beautiful summer evening with one of the most striking Northwest sunsets I have seen. They both grew up in Seattle but now reside in Los Angeles. Jordan proposed at one of Newcastles amazing view points during a visit home and they wanted to share this special venue with their friends from California and Tanya's family from Iceland.

Here are some highlights from their wedding day...

Tanya and Jordan's puppy Lint made the trip from California to be a ring bearer and was spruced up for the big day.

I must say he was one well dressed pup.

To relax before the ceremony the guys played pool at Newcastle's Wooly Toad Bar.

Two of my favorite photographers, husband and wife team, Scott and Laura of Wallflower Photography, captured Tanya and Jordan's first glimpse. I love the overjoyed look on Jordan's face as he saw his gorgeous bride.

The tent at Newcastle was transformed into a lush oasis for the ceremony with raw silk draping, white orchids, raspberry rose petals, vibrant green flowers and white rod iron trees dripping with candles, thanks to the talents of David Galliett, owner of Rented Elegance.

During the reception guests enjoyed stunning views from every table and an array of scrumptious cupcakes.

Jordan is a music producer in Los Angeles so music played an important part of the wedding. Each guest table was named after a favorite song of the couple, guests took home CD favors, a family friend and guitarist played a song during the ceremony, Jordan and his groomsmen performed during the reception and even the ring bearer showed off his breakdancing skills.

Guests wished the happy couple farewell with sparklers as they fittingly hopped onto a golf cart and drove away.

Tanya and Jordan, thank you for sharing your love story with me!

creating your own wedding website

We are living in the age of the internet so take advantage and create a website for your wedding to keep guests in the know. You can share details about your wedding day, travel tips, photos, stories of how you met and became engaged, introductions of your wedding party, post registries and write a blog throughout your engagement. A website can also highlight Seattle and all there is to explore in the Pacific Northwest. Seattle is more and more becoming a destination for out of town couples so help your guests make the most of their visit. Include your website URL on your save-the-date invitation to help spread the word.

I love Nearlyweds, a savvy site that allows couples to create their own personalized websites that is simple to manage. They have a fun selection of templates to choose including designs from Seattle based invitation company Izzy Girl. Izzy Girl, owned by design extraordinaire Janet Maples, also offers custom wedding invitations and stationary to match your Nearlyweds site (see below example).

Whichever resource you use to create a website it is a great way to stay connected with your guests and I encourage you to give it a try.

Spa Days

Today a friend treated me to a pampering pedicure at Julep Nail Parlor across from Univeristy Village. A great find right in my neighborhood! The decor is 50's retro chic blended with simple elegance. We were able to sit together in comfy chairs and chat while all natural soothing lavender vanilla lotion was massaged into our tired feet. Fresh tea was served and a large fireplace made the room feel cozy. What a perfect space for a girls night out, bachelorette party or pre-wedding spa day. You can rent out the entire spa for events in the evenings complete with catering and the option to bring in wine. It really doesn't get any better than that!
